WHO BRIEFS ON TRENDS OF EBOLA VIRUS OUTBREAK; PROJECTS IN UPCOMING WEEKS
Nearly six months after the World Health Organization (WHO) was notified of the first case in the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa, experts from WHO and Imperial College will brief on their upcoming New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) article outlining the epidemiological trends thus far in the outbreak and project expected case numbers for the coming weeks if control measures are not enhanced

An Ebola virus disease has severely affected West Africa, especially Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, and claimed thousands of lives across the region. The United Nations and its partners are scaling up their efforts to address the outbreak and mitigate its impact in the region.
Following a briefing to Member States, Dr. David Nabarro, UN System Senior Coordinator for Ebola, Valerie Amos, Emergency Relief Coordinator and USG for Humanitarian Affairs and Bruce Aylward, Assistant Director-General for Polio, Emergencies and Country Collaboration (World Health Organization) will brief the press.
