New Permanent Observer of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Presents Letter of Nomination to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Abdulaziz Suliman A. Alnasser, the new Permanent Observer of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his letter of nomination to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Alnasser had been serving as Deputy Director-General of the Department of Humanitarian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia.  He was the Director of the Security Council Affairs Department at the Ministry from 2021 to 2023.  From 2017 to 2021, he was posted at the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to international organizations in Vienna.

Mr. Alnasser served as Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Ghana from 2015 to 2017.  He also played a key role at the Saudi National Committee for the Implementation of Chemical and Biological Weapons Conventions in Riyadh from 2012 to 2015, and was appointed Vice Chair of the Saudi National Committee overseeing the implementation of Security Council resolutions under Chapter VII from 2021 to 2023. 

Mr. Alnasser has extensive experience in high-level representations in international and multilateral fora.  He holds a higher diploma in diplomatic studies from the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh (2013-2015) and a bachelor’s degree in English language and linguistics from Qassim University in Saudi Arabia (2003-2008).  He is married and has three children.
