New Permanent Representative of Pakistan Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Bilal Ahmad, the new Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Ahmad had been serving as Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan since September 2020.  Since joining Pakistan’s Foreign Service in 2002, he has held multiple diplomatic assignments in Pakistan’s Missions abroad.  These include in Riyadh (2017–2020), New York (2014–2017), Geneva (2009–2012) and Tripoli (2006–2009).  He has also served at Headquarters of the Foreign Service as Director (2012-2014) and Assistant Director (2003 and 2005–2006).

Mr. Ahmad was born in 1972 and holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.  He is married.
