New Permanent Representative of Guinea Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Mohamed Cherif Diallo, the new Permanent Representative of Guinea to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Diallo had been in charge of international cooperation, African integration and Guineans abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, African Integration and Guineas Abroad of Guinea since April 2022. From 2015 to 2022, Mr. Diallo was Guinea’s Ambassador to Italy, based in Rome, and concurrently non-resident Ambassador to Greece, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Permanent Representative of Guinea to United Nations organizations in Rome.

From 2002 to 2015, Mr. Diallo was posted at the Permanent Mission of Guinea to the United Nations in New York, carrying out various duties including serving as Deputy Permanent Representative of Guinea from 2011 to 2015. He was posted at the Consulate General of Guinea in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 1999 to 2001; at the Embassy of Guinea in Bucharest, Romania from 1996 to 1999; and at the Embassy of Guinea in Rome, Italy from 1993 to 1996.

Mr. Diallo has a master’s degree in economy and commerce from the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at the University of Sapienza in Rome, Italy (1986-1994) and a degree in electro-mechanics from the Faculty of Science Techniques at the University of Conakry in Guinea (1978-1981). Mr. Diallo was born on 25 July 1960 in Guinea. He is married with three children.
