NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF PRINCIPALITY OF LIECHTENSTEIN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO ACTING DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United Nations Office at Geneva, Peter Matt, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Matt had been serving as Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Liechtenstein in Geneva since 2013. From 2009 to 2012, he was Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein to Germany, with residence in Vaduz, and from 2008 to 2012, he was a Diplomat at the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Liechtenstein in Vaduz.

From 1992 to 2008, Mr. Matt worked in the private sector in Switzerland.

The new Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein studied law at the University of Basel, Switzerland (1986 to 1991) and has a PhD in law from the same university (1992 to 1996). He passed the bar examination in Zurich, Switzerland (2001 to 2002), and carried out post graduate studies, Executive Master of European and International Business Law, from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland (2009 to 2011). He was born on 5 April 1966.
