NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF PANAMA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Alberto Navarro Brin, the new Permanent Representative of Panama to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Mr. Navarro Brin has had a long career in the private sector, having occupied positions of responsibility in multinational and Panamanian companies in the commercial, banking and financial fields. Currently, he is the President or Managing Director of a number of Panamanian companies, as well as a public-private sector consultant and expert.

The new Permanent Representative of Panama has also worked in the public service, in particular at the Panamanian Ministry of Housing, where, notably, he was Executive Director of the Home Savings Fund, the Executive Director of the National Housing Council and the Executive Director of the Regional Housing Technical Council.

A civil engineer, Mr. Navarro Brin has also worked as a buildings inspector. In addition, he acted as a consultant on public administration matters in his capacity as an economist.

Mr. Navarro Brin studied civil engineering at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville (United States) and at the University of Panama (1962). He also received a master’s degree in economy from the University of Harvard.

Born on 25 June 1936 in Panama, Mr. Navarro Brin is married.
