NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF GAMBIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Moses Benjamin Jallow, the new Permanent Representative of Gambia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Jallow had been serving as Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Gambia to France since 2008. From 2006 to 2008, he was Chargé D’Affaires ad interim at the Consulate General of Gambia to France, and concurrently from 2005 to 2006 was the Chargé D’Affaires ad interim at the Embassy of Gambia to France and was the alternate Permanent Delegate of Gambia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

In addition to various other posts held at the Gambian Embassy in France, Mr. Jallow served as the Acting Chief of Protocol to the President of Gambia in 1998, and worked at the Ministry of External Affairs from 1992 to 1998.

Mr. Jallow was born on 27 February 1964 and is married with four children. He had attended a number of international academic and training courses and holds a Diploma in Diplomatic Training from the University of Sierra Leone.
