NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BHUTAN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Yeshey Dorji, the new Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Dorji had been serving as Foreign Secretary of Bhutan from February 2006 to December 2008.
A career diplomat, Mr. Dorji joined the Bhutanese Foreign Service in 1981. He has served in various capacities at home and abroad during his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan, including postings in Dhaka, Geneva and New York.
Mr. Dorji has a BA from Delhi University and an MA in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston.
Born in Mongar in eastern Bhutan on 15 August, 1957, Mr. Dorji is married with three children.
