NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MONTENEGRO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
The new Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the United Nations Office at Geneva, Milomir Mihaljevic, today presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Sergei Ordzhonikidze.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, and since 2004, Mr. Mihaljevic was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro. In 2003, he was Minister Plenipotentiary and Acting Director of the Directorate for Asia, Australia and the Pacific, Center for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Montenegro. From 1999 to 2002, he was Minister-Counsellor/ Chargé d’Affaires at the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Embassy in Viet Nam.
From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Mihaljevic was Chief of the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. From 1989 to 1993, he was Counsellor at the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Embassy in India. From 1979 to 1984, he was Attaché at the Permanent Mission of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to the United Nations in New York.
Mr. Mihaljevic holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from Titograd University, and a Masters in Law degree from Belgrade University. He was born in 1950 in Pancevo, Serbia. He is married, and has two children. He speaks English and French.
