NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Alireza Moaiyeri, the new Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

From 2002 until his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Moaiyeri was Deputy Foreign Minister for Education and Research. From 1986 to 1998, he served as Deputy Prime Minister in political affairs; Advisor to the President in international affairs; and Advisor to the President in coordination affairs and in charge of Presidential Advisors. He was the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to France from 1998 to 2002.

Mr. Moaiyeri joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. He was born on 7 July 1956 in Rasht and is married with four children.
