NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Bernabe Carrero Cuberos, the new Permanent Representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Carrero Cuberos had been serving as Venezuela's Ambassador to Germany since November 2002.

Mr. Carrero Cuberos has been with the Venezuelan military for most of his career. Among other senior posts, he served as the Director of Venezuela's naval school and the Director-General of the Ministry of Defense.

After graduating in 1973, Mr. Carrero Cuberos received a degree in naval sciences. He also received training at the Central University of Venezuela and in the United States on administrative sciences.

Born on 28 September 1951, Mr. Carrero Cuberos is married and has three children. He speaks Spanish, English and Italian.
