Venue: Palais des Nations, Room XX (Building E)
The event is a collaborative initiative organized by the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Permanent Mission of Mexico, with support from the Permanent Missions of Finland and New Zealand, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is held in honor of Human Rights Day at the Palais des Nations, focusing on the rights of persons with disabilities, including children, and the necessary accessibility measures to ensure their full inclusion and participation in society.
Children from Geneva’s public schools will play a central role, selecting representatives to share their perspectives on living with disabilities. They will discuss the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in accessing their rights and participating in their communities.
The event aims to foster understanding by providing a platform for children to voice their experiences and insights. It underscores the significance of accessibility and inclusion, promoting awareness among participants to inspire present and future generations. By engaging children, the event highlights the value of building an inclusive, sustainable, and discrimination-free world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
