About Ciné ONU
In partnership with
From Yann Arthus Bertrand’s epic film Human to Alfonso Cuarón’s magnificient Roma, Ciné ONU Geneva uses the power of film to shine a light on the United Nations’ work and foster understanding about gender equality, human rights, humanitarian aid, health, reconciliation and peace, and many other issues.
An initiative of the United Nations Information Service, Ciné ONU Geneva holds these free film screenings regularly and invites the public for a discussion with panelists from the United Nations, civil society, academia, Member States and others.
Our aim is to raise awareness of UN priorities and activities and strengthen the profile of International Geneva, and we often do this in partnership with UN agencies, permanent missions or other partners. Ciné ONU Geneva is pleased to rely on the support of the Centre d’accueil de la Genève internationale (CAGI).
Ciné ONU was originally launched by the United Nations Regional Information Centre in Brussels in 2007. Since then, screenings are regularly organized in New York, Lisbon, London, Vienna and other cities. In Geneva, Ciné ONU was launched in 2014.
