In honour of English Language Day, Karimot Odebode reads for the UN a selection of two of her poems from the collection 'a woman has many names'.

Karimot Odebode is a poet and lawyer from Ibadan, Nigeria. She is the founder and project lead of Black Girl’s Dream Initiative. She was a key contributor to the Transform Education summit at the UN Headquarter in New York where she co-presented the Youth Declaration on transforming Education at the 77th United Nations General Assembly. 

Karimot is recognized by the United Nations as one of 17 SDGs Young Leaders, and by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Oyo State Government as one of 100 most influential young people for her advocacy.
